I just got around to hearing this (got lost in the shuffle of emails from a list and my own comments) but a belated thank you for this. Had I remembered to play it, I certainly would've included it in my blogwhoring post. Next one, I swear.

I think Waters has the best claim on being Pink. Gilmour is the better musician, but I don't think Gilmour has as much to say. Roger may be saying the same heavy-handed, dyspeptic thing for quite some time, but at least he's trying to accomplish something (and he can turn a phrase like few rock lyricists can). I'd love to have a new Waters rock album. Surely enough has happened in the world to piss him off enough to write some new songs.
