When in doubt, blame the victim
Finally, our government is asking the key question — when the Iraqis started this war, what they hell were they thinking?
- [Harry] Reid said... "It's time for the Iraqis to do their part."
- Rep. Heather Wilson, R-N.M., an Air Force veteran and member of the House Intelligence Committee, said she would not support increasing troop levels "to do for the Iraqis what the Iraqis will not do for themselves."
- Sen. Ben Nelson, who was among the small group of senators who met with the president Friday, said he believed Bush was aware of the high stakes and knew he would have to sell any plan to the American public. Bush suggested to the senators there would be "the expectation of the Iraqis carrying out their part of the deal, or else," said Nelson, D-Neb.

I agree with the sentiment, for different reasons.
A lot of us knew before Chimpy launched his Great Patriotic War on Iraq that he was letting a genie out of a bottle, and once out, it wasn't going back in.
The simple fact of the matter is, the Iraqis must "do" what they are inevitably going to do and get it over with, and we can't prevent it. What they will "do" will, of course, be terrible-but the sooner they get it over with, the sooner the killing stops.
Now it is time for Americans to resolve to end the unconstitutional occupation of Washington, DC, and send Chimpy off to The Hague, where he can answer for that which he has wrought on millions of innocents.
GREAT point. What part of this deal did the Iraqis ever agree to? And what is Bush's "or else"--we'll pack up and leave?
