There is no satisfaction in this. There is no good ending. No point when people wake up and say, "Gee, I just had a terrible dream" or "Gee, was I ever hood-winked." We sort of glided beyond that point in 2000.
What we have now is a train wreck -- in progress, guaranteed.
Curiously, our lack of awareness and reaction to Global Warming seems to parallel exactly our inability to even identity, never mind extricate ourselves from, our social catastropie.

You might appreciate these results from the Political Compass test I just took, which places people along the full possible spectrum of political views. Excellent graphic demonstration of the narrowness of the landscape and the vast gap between people like me and the two parties.
