Democratic Underground is outta control in its blind, unquestioning, cultish Obama worship. It's really creepy the way they will march in lockstep with Dear Leader as he authorizes drone killing sprees on innocent "brown people", simply because he's a Democrat. It's every bit as moronic as when Republicans rubberstamped everything Bush did. Or actually it is WORSE, since Obama has EXPANDED Bush's terror policies and assault on civil liberties - and Democrats SHOULD know better. But the Obamabots over at DU are either oblivious to the fact or willingly choose to ignore it because it doesn't fit in with their hero worship. I don't know what's worse.
Um, it was one poster who called it hateful over there. I like how all of DU is boxed in by the comment of one poster.
It doesn't look like just one commenter, it looks like a bunch of them are in a tizzy (taking a vote of some sort) as if they might get leprosy over a link to someone expressing freedom of speech for heaven's sake.
Just as depressing is to follow the comments to this morning's HuffPo splash page about the Supreme Court justices. The article is the usual propaganda drivel, but the comment section is a study in the depth of ignorance about the health care fiasco and the mandate to enrich private enterprise. The Obamabots are like locust at a feeding frenzy. Either that, or HuffPo is preventing anyone from making a clear comment about what is actually going on.
Christ, even FDL is going Obama gooey.
Incidentally, I still have a hard time imagining the supreme fascists of the US of A ruling against the individual mandate; a setup so sweet to the ownership class and that promises so much for future privatization of the vast sums of money involved in the social safety net.
Anyway, net result of all this; four more years of Obama and Democrats doing the dirty work for the owners and using the remaining tatters of their so called party and the staggering ignorance and apathy of the public at large as a shield.
Not to mention those frightening Rethuglicans...

Equally disturbing is just how many of these sites didn't mention the action at all. It's like it didn't happen.

The original complainant calls VLWC a "voter suppression site". The mind boggles.
And isn't calling VastLeft.com "a voter suppression site" not only laughable but "disruptive, hurtful, rude, insensitive, over-the-top, or otherwise inappropriate"?
The original alerter, the one who called this site "hateful," just got one of his posts hidden and is thus banned from the thread. Maybe now things will calm down and the thread can get back to rational discussion. Yeah, right.

Yeah, the main site seems locked into ignoring anything but the uniparty dog-and-pony-show. There is no mention of third party alternatives on the main site.
Of course, if Obama loses, third parties will suddenly become the rage (literally) as they are blamed for Obama's loss.
On the other hand, on the MyFDL sub site of FDL, the page where users can post their own diaries, there currently is a battle going on between O-bots and third party proponents. Some of the O-bots are comically irrational.
