OK. I've made up my mind to vote for Jill Stein and the Green Party this November.
But won't President Obama and the Democratic Party call me names like they did when I voted for Ralph Nader? Sure. But so what? Barack Obama and the Democratic Party certainly don't want my vote, so no love lost either way.
Barack Obama and the Democratic Party just love to punch me in my dirty fucking Hippy retard anti-war Vietnam Veteran face just to impress the Republicans and fence-sitting Independents with their very own right-winger-than-thou credentials.
So, bye bye Barack Obama and credit David Atkins for helping me make up my mind. Anyone who doesn't know monkeys from apes certainly can't convince me to vote for a Republican running as a Democrat.
By casting your vote for any third-party presidential candidate, you are wasting your opportunity to PREVENT the election of the candidate you fear will be the worse of the two of Obama and Romney.
"By casting your vote for any third-party presidential candidate, you are wasting your opportunity to PREVENT the election of the candidate you fear will be the worse of the two of Obama and Romney."
That argument isn't likely to convince anyone here. Speaking for myself, I don't think there is a functional difference between Robama and Obamney. Either way, we get right-wing policy and neo-con foreign policy. I do not think Obama is the lesser of two evils. He out-eviled Bush.
I will use my vote to protest this so-called democracy where we are given a choice between two flavors of right-wing, austerity-pushing, freedom-stripping, child-murdering, law-breaking candidates. I will vote for Jill Stein because her platform is remarkably close to my values. Unlike Obamney and Robama, she actually cares about preventing widespread suffering and human death from both war and the ravages of climate change.
I'd rather vote my conscience instead of using my vote tactically to support your SUPPOSEDLY lesser-evil candidate (a notion I wholeheartedly reject, by the way).

If you are certain you wish to leave it to other people, less principled than you, to decide who will be our next president, then I guess that is what you will do.
I can remember back in 1992 when every rabid right-winger that I knew at the Hughes Aircraft Company in Orange County California voted for Ross Perot. When I pointed out to them that such a course would likely result in the election of the Democratic candidate, Bill Clinton, they shrugged.
Deputy Dubya's daddy had raised taxes on the wealthiest Americans, and that they would not abide. So the rabid right-wingers (in the Republican Party) aimed to teach Bush the Elder -- and any other Republican who might want to become President in the future -- that anything but tax reductions for the wealthy would keep them from their political dreams forever. Deputy Dubya many not have learned much in school, but he sure learned that lesson. And so did the Republican Party, as anyone can see today.
Besides, two years later in 1994, Newt Gingrich and the Republicans swept back into the control of Congress and President Bill Clinton couldn't get enough of giving them what they wanted "to get things done." And still the rabid Republicans impeached him for balancing the budget and getting a blow job anyway.
Republicans take what they want. Democrats take what Republicans give them. Voting third party got the rabid Republicans what they wanted. They could care less who gave it to them: a Republican who believed or a Democrat who caved. Same story today.
Letting the Democratic Party know that it can ignore the Working Class has gotten the Working Class nothing but poverty and other forms of abuse. Time to learn a lesson from Ross Perot. It has to start somewhere, and so I'll do what I can to help with Jill Stein and the Green Party. Besides, I genuinely believe in saving the environment. Barack Obama apparently doesn't.

Um...you might not want to say that in front of a mirror, lest you have a brief moment of reflection (ha!) on your own stance.
John Walker raises a nasty issue from polls that show a majority of Democrats would be unhappy to loose the individual mandate (opposite of their views in 2008) even if they could have all the health care benefits of Obama's plan without the mandate (see here). Walker attributes it to the bully pulpit.
I think it comes directly from lesser of evil whores like the anonymous fly buzzing around here, who operate on two rails of emotion, fear and timidity. It's the same thing that happened in Greece over last weekend. Fear and timidity ruled the elections, postponeing the inevitable, and the suffering, for a little longer.
In the United States, these people will not stop their myopic slide to the bottom until we have total authoritarian fascism. They want so much to hide their heads in the sand, they yearn so much for things to be "normal" and non-frightening, that they are willing to ignore extrajudicial killings by drones, they are willing to ignore thousands upon thousands of American families being illegally thrown out of their houses into homelessness by Obama enabled banks, they are willing to ignore the media becomeing overtly propagandistic (just short of Tokyo Rose), they are willing to go along and make excuses for unprovoked major wars for no valid reason, and they are willing to ignore heroic whistle blowers savagely treated as if this were a third world country.
No matter how savage and extreme Obama's position, no matter what ungodly horrors he commits, he is always the lesser of two evils. Welcome to the Democratic party.
Regarding excellent reasons for Obama to loose: Here is another link to add to Dan's above. It's from one of Obama's professors at Harvard. Posted on HuffPo of all places, under the title, The President 'Must Be Defeated'
