People who starve people are the most progressive people

You know who else has hearts, kids, etc.?

Iranians, whom Elizabeth Warren wants to economically isolate... with no "escape hatch."

Since both big parties are A-OK with sanctions against any and all Muslim countries, it's not a media-ready, horserace/bickering-partisans topic. Which is to say, "who cares?"

Besides, Warren made an inspiring speech at Netroots Nation, so her hardline Middle East policy is worth it!

Found at Hullabaloo.

I suppose truth in advertising would have her change that to half-hearted.

Must be getting campaign advice from former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright.

For such a strong domestic liberal advocate, Warren's "National Security/Foreign Policy" webpage is sour reading. Too bad. She mentions "human rights" but most of the page is just hawkish, and virtually fear-mongering.

One of her would-be predecessor Ted Kennedy's trademarks in later years was his opposition to the Iraq War. I think a liberal state like MA is willing to support a voice for peace in Congress, someone who breaks away from a CW based on fear and militarism. Warren's comments on funding imply she would've supported David Obey's war tax, which is good, but how about pushing against the whole foreign-policy-by-weapons mentality, too?

Thank you for the fine work, Vast Left. I followed your link to Digby's Hullabaloo and posted:

"As Vast Left-Wing Conspiracy points out: Iranians have hearts and kids, too. Not that Elizabeth Warren wants them to have anything to eat, electricity to power their homes, or medicine to heal their sick. She sounds just like another compassionate lady Democrat, Madeleine Albright, who said of the half-million Iraqi kids starved due to American sanctions: "We think the price was worth it."

And just for Elizabeth Warren's information, The corporations run the country AND us. "We" don't run anything -- as she has already discovered courtesy of the Apartheid Zionist Entity whose insidious, obdurate lobby has obviously dictated her foreign policy positions to her.

In fact, America's imperial militarist foreign policy eats up all the productive capacity of the economy that would otherwise feed the kids, create the jobs, and provide health care for the sick -- just as George Orwell said in 1984 in the Party slogan, "War is Peace" (of mind for the corporate oligarchy). Any support for the Apartheid Zionist Entity impoverishes America to precisely the same extent, if not more. What a fatuous buffoon.

Michael, looks like your comment at Digby's has been disappeared.

Vast Left,

Probably something to do with David Atkins, whom Glenn Greenwald called "a door-to-door canvasser for the Democratic Party," or words to that effect.

How I long for the days of the first Bush administration when Secretary of State James Baker III would say of the Apartheid Zionist Entity and its AIPAC lobby in the United States:

"Fuck 'em. They didn't vote for us."

What he said.

At least in the past, Atkins claimed that he had no access to the moderation tools. I have no reason to believe he's lying.

Perhaps not. I'll never know in any event. Or care. I said my thing.

But after The genetically predetermined humanitarian interventionism of hairless monkeys crap that Atkins wrote on Wednesday, June 13, 2012, I did try to work up the energy to educate him on the difference between monkeys and apes, as well as why China, Korea, Vietnam, Iraq, and Afghanistan all went so badly wrong for the humanitarian interventionists.

But I see that my message to Mr Atkins has also gotten the disappearance treatment. Don't think I'll bother with those people again.

Some of us Vietnam Veterans have a pretty low threshold for that humanitarian intervention thing -- for good an numerous reasons. Not that anyone wanted to listen forty years ago, any more than they want to listen today.

More antisemitic BS. Washington is using Israel as a regional knuckle-breaker just like it uses Saudi.

If Israel told the militarists to go blow themselves tomorrow, the MIC shills would all pivot around and start gushing about how wonderful Turkey is, and AIPAC would dissolve itself and instantly reconstitute as ATPAC.
