Long ago I believed that the USA was an empathetic nation, objecting to cruelty and injustice anywhere in the world where small pockets of unenlightenment remained, with the capacity and willingness to be a force for good.
I felt solidarity with this vision of the America of my idealistic youth.
The the idealism of this vision cannot stand in the face of reality.
The demand that justice and human decency have substantial influence over foreign and domestic policy leaves me characterized by "centrists" as "far left".
Like the song says,"Everbody's so different, I haven't changed."
I had mixed feelings about how much that described America, but I certainly thought that about the Democrats.
I, too, don't feel like I've changed much politically. I've just come to realize the Democrats don't support my left/liberal/prog agenda any more than the Republicans do.
Hey VL, you gotta check out the hatred directed at Glenn Greenwald since he's now moving to the Guardian. So far they've mocked his sexuality, called him racist, a civil liberties radial, "so far to the left that he's in with the new right" (whatever the f*** that's supposed to mean) and the list goes on.. They're so honest about it though, some douche essentially said he read GG when he was writing about Bush but then stopped reading him when he began to criticise Obama.. Honestly I think the right (tea party etc.) have more balls when it comes to standing up to their leaders.. Makes me f***ing sick to my stomach..
You don't appear to understand what these terms mean. A centrist, by their very definition, can't be far to the right. If they are, they're not centrists, no matter what they say.
And if you're to the left of the democratic party, then you are, according to polls, extremely far from center. If that is where you stand, then it is no wonder you'd see centrists as far right, just like the far right tries to paint centrists as leftists in centrist clothing.
The only objective measure is how people compare to the range found in polling. In comparison to the two major parties, centrists are a bit less far from democrats, but only because the republicans have moved farther from center than they have.
As if you can make the left disappear through the transformative magic of polling and redefinition of words; and by excluding the left from the Democratic Party; and then by calling the space between the two right wing parties centrist.
As if the left can be redefined as being so effectively supportive of Republican Party positions that Republicans become angry at Democrats for the ideological theft of their campaign issues.
In the photos, Yoon Eun Hye is wearing black T-shirt while cutely leaning on a wooden bar. Calmly staring at the camera, she displays her well-defined features and feminine charms, which captivated the public.
Netizens commented, “Yoon Eun Hye has become prettier,” “She looks lovely,” “Show us some of your good work” and “She looks innocent yet sexy.”

That only means I've been more deluded in the past than you were, or maybe less exposed to reality when growing up.
My sincere congratulations to you.
Keep up the good work.
