OT: I've been thinking about a proposal for a while now, exanding on an approach that's been surprisingly effective so far--
While Digby's is obviously a hostile place for open commentary now, there is some degree of freewheeling discussion going on elsewhere, including Unclaimed Territory, despite Salon's worrisome decision to require a Google or Facebook account to comment there.
As you know, UT is moving to The Guardian shortly, which seems problematic as Greenwald has been one of WikiLeaks foremost defenders, while The Guardian has become frothingly hostile. Especially problematic seeing as the next few months are likely to see major developments in the WikiLeaks saga.
I'd like to suggest:
A few left bloggers, possibly including yourself, set up and moderate "emergency comment system" for UT. Basically, a simple blog consisting of blank entries with headings that identify GG posts only by the date and time of posting, eg "UT 9/15/12 5:14PM".
Hopefully, this blog would forever consist entirely of blank entries with no comments. Otherwise...
(It's would probably be best not to drag GG into the matter in advance, unless he personally objects.)
