A good Democrat at my workplace is defined, literally, as anyone who unquestioningly supports the Democratic Party. These are people who hold Masters and Ph. D.'s, yet they all fall in line as long as some politician has a big old D near their name. Authoritarianism, contrary to what many academics would have you believe, is not restricted to the fringes of the political spectrum. It's alive and doing very well in middle class to affluent liberal America.
This cartoon kicks ass, plain and simple. Once again VL, you sum up reality very well as any good political cartoonist does. I can't tell you how many times I've run into this type of response on the internet
Does this technique have its own bingo card? I know that if it did, my favorite square would be the one that said "Stealth Pro-Lifer." I've actually been accused of that one at least a couple of times. The Democrats can succor/promote genuine pro-life assholes like Reid and that creep from Penn. They can not even have reproductive rights in their own damn party platform. No matter. The faithful Donkeys will always find a way to justify it, but walk away from the Party's manipulative crap and suddenly you're the evil traitor.
[nod] Nothing better than the thundering silence from Dem-Fems when one points out that Carter was first to slap restrictions on abortion, and that the Hyde amendment could not have remained in force for decades without Democrats.
One blogger basically told me he couldn't respond to my complaints about this silence, because one of the big time Dem-Fem bloggers is his friend. (Oh, and it's mean for a feminist to call another feminist a party hack, even when it's true. :p)

Obama fans are so good at detecting stealth pro-lifers!
