The consensus is, at least on Obama loyalist sites, that the Big O was just so flabbergasted at how easily RMoney lies he could do nothing but agree with things he literally does not agree with. Go check out Amanda Marcotte on Pandagon to see this incredibly warped hypothesis in action.
Personally I didn't watch the "debate" because I don't really care to see two conservatives try to say who is the most conservative among them. It appears that the Big O thought it was OK to let the moderate republican mask slip to let his true inner conservative self shine through.
But do go check out the Pandagon site. The denial and delusion going on in the debate post is extreme even for a dyed in the wool partisan like Marcotte.
I want to scream every time I recall all the time I used to waste on that piece of crap site, hoping against hope that Marcotte the Party Hack and her Hack-ettes might someday learn some fucking sense.
Luckily I've got plenty of lozenges stockpiled, just in case another flashback ensues.
Yes, Marcotte is still plugging away, using her "I am an atypical liberal, I come from TEXAS!" schtick for all that it is worth. I think the very last straw for me was her bloodthirsty approval of how the Constitutional Scholar in Chief had an old Saudi porn addicted construction contractor executed in Pakistan. She was basically slavering at the thought of "her" preznit being so manly and awesome as to have a hit put out and fulfilled by JSOC operators. She was going on and on about how decisive and awesome it was, but all I could hear was your typical deluded authoritarian lusting over the object of their hero worship.
It doesn't help that her movie and music reviews are equally abysmal as her political writing. Having moved on to Raw Story and Slate has increased the numbers in her neoliberal echo chamber. It's democrats like her that drove me from the party. Well, her and her hero, the Big O.
I didn't watch the Three Stooges last night (I'm including Lehrer), but am glad others had the stomach for it and are willing to report their impressions.
Aside from the 'bots who are still clinging to their delusions, most everyone seems to think that Romney won the Best Performance category while Obama delivered some variation of "phoned it in", " unprepared", "distracted", etc...
Gore's thin air excuse for Obama's dismal performance shows just how far some are willing to stretch the bounds of credulity. On another site, I even saw it posited that Obama let Romney speak uninterrupted so much in order to get "juicy" sound bites to use against Romney in campaign ads.
Apparently there is a shortage of negative material that can be used against Romney. Who knew? Thank goodness we have Obama and his trusty eleventy-dimensional logic working on the case.
"...It's democrats like her that drove me from the party. Well, her and her hero, the Big O..."
Yeah, I know what you mean. Though I was already clear of the Blue/Red compound by the time I started reading over there.
I've dutifully search-engined "Jill Stein" + "[big league feminist blog name goes here]" for weeks now and found pretty much nothing about the two all-woman tickets available to vote for this time out. Nothing new to see opportunist cowards like Marcotte peddling the lie that there are only two kinds of women in the world: Democrats and Anti-feminists, but it's still plenty nauseating.
I know Marcotte holds the idea of third party voting in utter contempt, but you would think she would highlight the single ticket, in 47 states of the nation, that has two strong, intelligent women on it. But you are correct about her Manichean outlook on things; it's either you are a Democrat or anti-feminist, much in the vein of You Are Either With Us or Against Us.
Weird, that whole tendency of "progressives" to mirror the exact same kind of narrow minded thinking they say they detest in "republicans", no?
For me the time to leave was the second term of the Big Ugly Dog. I couldn't back the best republican preznit this country has ever seen any longer. I just couldn't conscience the duplicity any longer. I got the hell out of Dodge and never looked back!

Oh, I guess it's pretty much normal now. I have a Hall of Shame regarding the Demo-Fem blogs. Not just Pandagon, but Ms. Mag (wankers from Day One. They only covered LaDuke as Nader's veep in 2000 after their own readership asked WTF was with the editorial silence), Echidne, Alas A Blog, Feministe, Feministing, Bitch, and several others. It's disgusting. Actually I think on Feministe, a couple of commenters promoted Stein/Honkala in some let's-all-cheerlead-Bill-Clinton thread. But that's about it.
Between these dipshits and the stupid sexist caveman dudes on Reason (who behave like stereotypes of lecherous construction workers watching "girls" walk by) as regards female candidates, I don't know who I'd prefer to reach through the internet and strangle first. >: Fucking cowards, all of them.
Order an AE T-shirt, now in stock! Union-made, 100% cotton white shirt. $25+s/h. US orders only. Look great, support my blogging, and have interesting discussions with the TSA!
