Maybe Dexter is the ultimate character of our age. He's a mass murder but he's a good person (only murders bad guys!). He shows us mass murders can be good people. Just like Obama does! Obama as Dexter.
The above, of course, is sarcasm, as I don't even kinda think Obama is a good person.
As I said after the second debate, in e-mail to a friend: "Obama is Dexter, but without the discretion about whom to kill."
Awesome!
We should have seen it all coming when Obama authorized the lethal force of the 3 teenaged Somali pirates who held Richard Phillips hostage.
Glenn Greenwald:
"There's one final irony worth noting in all of this. Political leaders and political movements convinced of their own Goodness are usually those who need greater, not fewer, constraints in the exercise of power. That's because - like religious True Believers - those who are convinced of their inherent moral superiority can find all manner to justify even the most corrupted acts on the ground that they are justified by the noble ends to which they are put, or are cleansed by the nobility of those perpetrating those acts." -http://www.guardian.co.uk/commentisfree/2012/nov/26/obama-drones-kill-list-framework
Our poor country has gone crazy. I don't know if we can ever be returned to a respectful position in the world with this status quo.
It reminds me of this video I recently came across-- it's a cute little song about how Jesus and his followers actually Occupy Jerusalem.
Anyways, here it is: http://youtu.be/a6akkb_afqs
Which, it has a point.
Democrats really do seem to enjoy electing career killers, don't they?
The Dexter analogy actually makes good sense. :/
